Post 24 - MOTIVATION MONDAY - Relaxation advice from Matisse, exemplified by our cat...

Blogging my evolution as an artistic art educator - An art-based experiment...

"What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter - a soothing, calming influence on the mind, rather like a good armchair (or laundry basket) which provides relaxation from physical (and mental) fatigue."
--Henri Matisse

Matisse and Cosmo have got the ticket... I want so much to be "there" too!

Relax today and, "Do something good for yourself," as my friend Ann always tells me...

Safety, health, happiness, and peace... Pam

Who's cat is that? Just caught some Matisse at the Met two weeks ago. But I have to say I was really taken by the Pissaro. Not so crazy about Monet, actually. Of course, Seurat is crazy to look at. Ducked out of the painting rooms to spend some time with my old friend Rodin. And saw some of Degas' sculpture... all but one presented posthumously, of course... Sorry for the ramble!

That's Cosmo... Our rather large kitty. Got him from the pound at 25 lbs! Eats like a horse, and shows not much interest in exercise, except when something spooks him OR he smells chicken nuggets cooking... HE HE HE!!

Ahhhh... Rodin! I really do associate Rodin with you. Always probably will! Not much of a Monet fan myself. Prefer Matisse and Seurat, and more modern artists...
